I am back in Sacramento. I'm just an exit or so away from where I was last week, different hotel, same general area. I came in this morning and will be here until Friday afternoon. The reason I am here this week is to learn about and maybe help to develop a new software program we will be using for our sales team.
As I mentioned yesterday, I have a cold. On the flight this morning I slept pretty much from the moment I got in my seat until the plane landed with a brief moment of being awake when the pilot mentioned we were flying past Lake Tahoe. When I got to the hotel around 10 AM, I was so thankful that my room was ready! I was able to come up and take a little nap before I had to go to work at noon.
One of the members of the team is (one of) my former bosses, Ric. I told him that I had a cold and during a break he asked how I was doing. I told him I was struggling and he said that the real work would begin tomorrow and suggested I come to the hotel and get some sleep. That music to my ears! Back at the hotel I crawled into bed and took a good long nap. I had some dinner, watched TV and now I'm about ready to take some nighttime cold medicine and go back to bed. I've got to be sharper and better tomorrow.
