#1980 weekend in Idaho

After the last post, which was such a downer, I hardly expect anybody to want to come back and read tonight's post. If you are here, HELLO! I don't feel quite as despondent tonight, so that's a good thing.

My dad is still in the hospital and is still in ICU, but the breathing tube has been removed. He responded well to the dialysis. So even though he is still quite ill, we've got those two things going for us.

MT and I took a quick drive up to Pocatello to spend the weekend with his parents. Since we will be spending Christmas here with T (he can't leave the state), we wanted to take gifts up for Jake and Linda. We had a nice quiet visit with them. Their house is really beautiful, cozy, clean and restful. A nice change of pace from my every day. Both Jake and Linda are retired, so the pace of their life is what they want it to be. There's no rushing around. It's like...do you feel like having something to eat? Okay, let's go. (Keep chatting for a few more minutes.) Okay, let's go. (Putting on of shoes, finding coats, making our way out the door.)

We went to dinner at Mama Inez, a Mexican restaurant in Poky that I really like. I haven't been there for awhile and I kind of overate. It was just so good! The cheese crisps have long been a favorite of mine and since I haven't had them for a long time, I barely shared with the others. Plus I had an entree, of which I mostly just ate the meat once I figured out how full I was getting from the cheese crisps.

I also got to spend some time with my BFF LA. I went over to her house and we chatted, played with her little yorkie-poo, Floki, and exchanged gifts. She gave me the Salad & Vegetable Collectiona gift set from seasonstaproom.com. There are three infused olive oils and three flavored balsamic vinegars. I'm excited to try out the flavors on salad and on chicken and fish, too, and of course, just for dipping some crusty bread in!

Coming up this week, MT and I will be going to see the Foo Fighters in concert on Tuesday. We're really looking forward to the show. I don't remember the last honest-to-goodness rock and roll show we went to. We saw Ryan Adams this year, and he rocks, but his vibe is a bit different from the Foo Fighters. It will be fun to rock out. On Friday I will be going to California to visit the family. My mom's birthday is a week from today. Maybe my dad will be out of the hospital by next weekend. I'm not sure though. I'll be glad to see my first family. <3 p="">
I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend. Hug your loved ones and tell them what they mean to you.
