#2311 Happy New Year

I didn't make it until midnight last night. I hadn't slept well the night before, work was weird, and I was just out of sorts. To top it all off, the Utes lost the bowl game and the sausage balls I made were dry and not what I dreamed they would be. So I cleaned up the kitchen, came up to my room, did a couple of French lessons and went to sleep.

This morning when I woke up, my throat was scratchy and my nose was stuffy. Dang it! I took a couple of ibuprofen and felt better. I made some pancakes, warmed up a couple of sausage balls (still dry and strange but improved with a drizzle of syrup). This afternoon I spent time unraveling, or maybe it is raveling, as I looked at the year ahead and dreamed of what could be and what I hope to achieve in 2020. I got a set of noise-cancelling headphones for Christmas from work and they are great. I could barely hear the show that MT was watching.

Maybe the idea of spending a couple of hours sitting at a table and being introspective isn't your idea of a good time, but I really like it. I don't know if I could have done it when T was younger, actually. It works out well now, though, and it helps me somehow.

Now I'm watching one of my favorite movies, The Holiday, and just chilling. It's been a good day. I feel good and I think I'm probably going to be okay to get through the next couple of days at work.

Happy 2020. Hope it's a good one!

"Talk" to you in a couple of days.
