1. Better. Sometime during the day I started feeling better. My sinuses cleared up enough that I didn't feel like a pile o'crap. I wasn't overcome with fatigue. Nothing was aching. I found I could talk at my normal volume without sounding too nasally. It was glorious. Tonight I fixed dinner and did a couple of other things around the house. I still have a teeny little headache behind my left eye (it's been there most of the day), but other than that, I think I'm gonna make it. Don't worry, Mom, I will take it easy this weekend.
2. Books. #EkpesBookClub is on a bit of a hiatus at the moment. Ekpe says a new book will be coming soon, but I haven't heard or seen anything from him for awhile about books, so I'm taking the time to choose my own books. I have a couple of books from the library: one I will probably finish this weekend and the next one I'm intrigued to read. Plus I bought the latest book from Alice Hoffman at a reduced price and I'm totally into it. I've finished three books this month and I just want to read all the time. I made a commitment to myself to read all the physical books I've purchased over the past year. There are eleven. Lizzie gave me one for Christmas, so that made twelve. My plan is to read one from my pile each month. I read the Christmas gift book first. It was excellent. I'll be making a new reading page by the end of the month. When did I turn into such a bookworm?
3. A very good salad. A couple of weeks ago I had a particular salad for lunch at a meeting I attended. It was delicious. I wasn't sure if it was delicious because I was extra hungry that day or if it was actually really good, so I've been wanting to get it again. Today was the day. I went to Cafe Zupas and ordered the Strawberry Harvest salad. I substituted goat cheese for the fontina, by the way, and it was a win.
The bonus part was that a couple of men I work with were at the restaurant too, and I just happened to be right behind them in line. They bought my lunch! So nice and unexpected :) The salad was delightful and now I wonder if it was extra wonderful because someone bought it for me LOL. I'll definitely have it again. The strawberry champagne vinaigrette dressing is awesome!
