When I got home from work today it was snowing pretty hard in my neighborhood. I was contemplating whether Mac would mind not going out for a walk. It turns out she was pretty insistent. When we passed by the front door on the way up to my bedroom, she was jumping at the door and making sounds. She is very vocal - that's the husky part of her. Begrudgingly, I put on my snow boots and my winter coat with a hood, jammed a beanie on my head, and leashed up the beast.
She was very good about not pulling me, probably because I yelled, "NO!!!" quite loudly and pulled back on her when she started to tug. After that, she walked at a good pace, but not so fast and so hard that I was worried about slipping.
It stopped snowing and the wind wasn't blowing, so even though it was cold, it was a pleasant walk. At one point Mac stopped to smell something and I looked up at a tree. Every branch and still-clinging leaf was covered in white and it looked magical. Usually I don't carry my phone with me when we go for a walk, but I happened to have it in my pocket tonight so I was able to take a picture.
What I am thankful for is that I was rewarded with a glimpse of nature's beauty even though I didn't really want to go out in the cold and snow with my pup tonight.

I miss the loveliness of the first snow and how the trees look -like this one- but that's about all I miss, just too cold!
