Oops! I skipped writing here on Friday. Now I remember...I fell asleep on the couch around 8:30. I remember laying on the couch with a book and I remember Harley laying on my feet so my tootsies were toasty. I probably had a blanket over me too. That's really all I need to drift off. When I sort of woke up, I went right up to bed, so no writing. You didn't miss much anyway. Had I written, it would have been about the best thing I ate that week, which was fish and chips from On the Hook Fish & Chips truck.
It's so good! The truck is usually in our area about once a month, so I don't get over-saturated with their food. Have you ever noticed that when you eat somewhere frequently, it becomes less of a treat? For example, we were hitting Chick-fil-A pretty often, nearly weekly, and we all kind of burned out on it. We had to take a break from it for awhile.
It's been a pretty quiet weekend for us. I took the dogs for a walk in the park by myself on Saturday. It was a bit tough. After about 30 minutes they started to tire out, and I was tired too! My shoulders are still a little sore from the dog wrangling I was doing. Harley just needs more time on the leash. We are working on it.
Other than that, I watched the NFL playoffs and read. I didn't really accomplish all of the things I thought I might this weekend, and I am okay with that. It felt good to slow down and finish a book. Since I lowered my reading expectations for myself, I haven't really been about finishing any books. It felt good to finish one.
I'm anxiously waiting to see what will happen on Wednesday during the Inauguration. Here in Salt Lake, there were armed protestors up at the Capitol over the weekend. One of MT's clients lives about a block from the Capitol and she said there were several helicopters flying around, both news and police, that were watching what was happening. Other than that, I'm taking a vacation day on Friday, so that will be nice.
That's all I've got for tonight. Have a wonderful week. Stay safe!
