#2525 weekend wrap-up

Well, here we are on Sunday night. I haven't done much of anything this weekend. Yesterday MT spent a little time preparing for our taxes by gathering up some information. We have a couple of weeks before we meet with the CPA, but there is a lot of info that we need to give the man in order for him to do our taxes.

In the afternoon, MT went to work on one of the properties. I took T to his friend's house, then I went to the grocery store. I was gone for a couple of hours. When I got home, I found this:

That is the remains of a library book. I'd left it on the dining room table, and the dogs destroyed it. Friends, I completely lost my shit. I yelled so hard that my throat still hurts a little today. I threw what was left of the book at them, yelling BAD DOG the whole time. Harley was dancing around, thinking it was the most fun she'd ever had. Mac (the guilty one) was cowering. I literally scared the pee out of her. I left the book remains on the ground, so that if they came downstairs, I yelled BAD DOG at them again and left no doubt what they were in trouble for. Of course I went to the library and paid for the book.

I wasn't even finished with the damn thing. I guess if there is any good to this story, it's that the last 40 pages were more or less intact, and I had about 30 pages left to read. I was able to finish the book this morning. Seeing a book in that state makes me physically ill. It took several hours for me to want to look at or talk nice to my dogs last night. They knew I was unhappy and angry. I slept in the guest room because they wanted to crowd on me. I wasn't having it. They stayed away.

MT and I watched a couple of movies this weekend. Last night we watched The United States vs Billie Holiday on Hulu. Andra Day is amazing as Billie Holiday. I didn't know anything about Lady Day's story. What a tragic life.

This afternoon we watched Moxie on Netflix. I read the book back in 2017 and really loved it. The movie is pretty terrific, too. I smiled through the whole thing, except when I was tearing up. I liked the casting a lot.

I hope y'all had a good weekend and have something fun to look forward to in the new week. Take care!

OMG! bad puppers! Nena and Lulu when they were puppies they destroyed a few books (one of them my old Spanish cookbook grrrr) It sort of taught me not to put things where they could get at them. They both were chewy pups!!
