The weather today was strange for early January in the Salt Lake valley. It was quite warm, with temperatures in the mid-40s. I know, my Californians, mid-40s isn’t warm, but temperatures are relative to what you’re used to, aren’t they? Since we’ve recently had temps in the single digits and teens, mid-40s felt balmy.
It was also drizzling rain most of the day and the sky was low with heavy dark clouds. All the snow has melted in my yard, for the most part, leaving a muddy mess. The drizzle was so unwelcoming, even Mac didn’t want to be outside for very long. I don’t think Harley went outside more than a few times to do her business. She hurried back in the house and have her body rubbed with the towel I keep by the door. It’s her favorite thing.
All this is to say that the day felt grey and bleak, and all I wanted to do was drink coffee and eat toast during the day. For dinner, I made a huge pot of pasta with a meat sauce, blanketed with mozzarella. It was comfort food, pure and simple. It was not fancy or special, but it tasted nice to us.

I also made a pot of pasta. Farfelle with fresh tomatoes, tons of garlic and chicken.l It was good. And the weather was good too :)
