Basically what I'm trying to say is that I didn't do a whole lot this weekend, but what I did do was pretty fun.
On Saturday, I went to the library because there were four books on hold for me. Four! I look at my hold list frequently, and I only saw that I was top of the list for one book, but it in the space of a day, two more books came in, and then the fourth book showed up, too. I wasn't in number one hold position for those last three books. Other people must have cancelled or suspended. Anyway, now I have four books that I want to read. All of them are Reese's Book Club selections. Three of them are from last year, and one is the February pick. (The book at the top of stack, Pancakes in Paris, is for a different book club.) I didn't know what book to start with, so I asked MT to pick a number between one and four. He picked two, so I am now reading Lucky. I am also reading Pancakes in Paris and Project Hail Mary. That one is on my Kindle. I expect a new book from Epke in the next week, so we'll add that one, whatever it may be, to the reading pile too. #firstworldproblems #bookwormworries
The other fun part of Saturday was #Ekpesbookclub meeting on Twitter. Ekpe is in Italy. He is injured, but is rehabbing his knee and is with his team in Bologna. I think it is dang cool that he continues the book club even when he is out of the country. The seasons he was playing in China were the most interesting, time-wise, because it was the morning of the next day when we would chat. In Italy, he is just eight hours ahead of most of us, so it works out a little better for everyone. We discussed the end of Cloud Cuckoo Land. That was a really great book, despite it's stupid title.
Today, Sunday, the only thing I had on my mind was going to see Hamilton at the Eccles Theater. T went with me. We got there really early, according to the instructions given by the theater. I'm not sure why it was imperative that we get there an hour before showtime. They wouldn't even let us in to our seats until a minimum of half an hour before the show. Fortunately, we were able to get a seat at a table in the lobby, so we got something to drink and sat around for awhile. It was nice to chat with T during daylight hours.
The show, of course, was wonderful. I spend a portion of the second act in tears, starting when Eliza sings Burn through It's Quiet Uptown. Then I sort of get it together until Eliza sings that last song. It's all just so good. I'd go again tomorrow, but the theater is dark on Monday, so no shows (lol).
What's ahead this week? Let's see. I've got physical therapy on Tuesday, and a credit union meeting on Thursday. I get a little facetime with Mom and Lizzie on Monday. Sunday is the Superbowl. T has work all week; he requested Saturday and Sunday off so he can hang out with his pals for the Superbowl. The weather forecast for next week looks pretty nice with highs in the mid-40s. That's practically spring-like around here!
I hope you have some fun stuff to look forward to. See ya back here on Tuesday!
