I did something I haven't done, or been able to do, for a couple of years: I sat at Starbucks and wrote in my journal this morning! It used to be a regular thing I did about once a month, but what with the pandemic and all, I wasn't able to enjoy this simple pleasure. I admit that I felt a little weird at first. I didn't have a mask - I'm not sure why. I mobile ordered, so my coffee and croissant were ready for me when I got there. I wasn't close to any people. I put in my earpods and let my mind wander. It was nice.
My next stop was Target. Again, I didn't have my mask and I felt even more strange being in there without a mask. I know the CDC eased mask guidance for indoor settings yesterday, but based on how I felt at Starbucks and at Target, I don't know if I am ready to easy my personal mask guidance just yet.
When I got home, it was time for book club. We are reading It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover and we have broken the book into thirds. This was the second discussion. The book is an easy, compelling read, and several members of the group couldn't stop themselves from finishing the whole thing. A couple of them let some little spoilers drop. GRR! I found that I didn't have much to say this week, though I did enjoy the discussion and reading everyone's theories on what may happen in the final third of the book.
I returned a couple of books to the library after book club, and picked up a book that I had on hold that had come in. I will not start that book until I finish the library book I am currently reading. I only have about 40 pages left in that book, and I will finish tonight or tomorrow.
This afternoon I have been reading and cleaning. The house gets so dusty from the doggos! And don't even get me started on their hairs everywhere. They are worth the extra effort, even though I will likely continue to complain sometimes.
Tonight MT and I got some takeout from Atlantis Burgers. Now he is watching a Star Trek show and I am getting ready to crawl in bed with my remaining 40 pages of The Island of Missing Trees and declaring this day a success.
Good night!
