We are now nine days away from our trip.
Yesterday I got a pair of waterproof ankle boots that I ordered from Amazon. I could get my feet in them, but couldn’t zip them up. Also, the boot was too tight and smushed my bunion, which is not good. I will return the boots and have ordered the next size up, and those boots will get here on Wednesday. If those boots don’t work, I’ll scrap the boots and get some more sneakers. I just like the idea of waterproof boots.
In other fun vacation prep, I have been trying to upload my travel docs to the Princess app, but the app would not recognize my booking number, so it wouldn’t let me continue with online check-in. The app recognized me and had all my trip info, but there was something about linking the booking that was failing. I finally called customer service and after about an hour on the phone with the funny, charming, and ultimately very helpful fellow, we are now Ocean Ready, as they say. We have a couple more things to do, like choose what time we want to get on the ship, and booking our meal time preference.
The next thing on my to-do list is checking health requirements, like Covid tests, for the airline, Spain, the ship, Italy, and the United States, so we can come home. I’m pretty sure the ship requires a negative test prior to boarding, and I read on the website that there is a testing center at the port. More to come on all of that stuff.
While I was looking through the trip info that Candice the travel agent sent over, I noticed that one of the excursions that I’d booked off the ship was not listed. I looked at the ship’s list of excursions, and the one I picked wasn’t on the list anymore. That’s when I remembered that I’d seen a refund on my credit card from Princess, and I finally put all the pieces together to realize the refund was for the excursion. I thought it was strange that Princess didn’t send an email or put a message on the app to let me know that the excursion was cancelled. It was the excursion to the Cinque Terre and Portovenere. There is a similar outing that we might choose. MT and I will talk about it tomorrow.
Today went by so, so fast. Work was really busy and challenging. I couldn’t get everything on my list finished; I had to prioritize to get the most important, time-sensitive stuff done. After work, I had house stuff to do and vacation stuff. I feel a little tuckered out. I’m pretty sure the next nine days are going to fly by. That’s good and cool, but also kind of stressful. One thing at a time. It will be okay, lil Sandy.
