I have missed two check-ins here; I have explanations.’
On the 16th, I volunteered at Red Butte Garden for a movie premier they hosted. The film was Esperanto by Teton Gravity Research. I had a three hour shift that turned into a seven hour shift. It was more than I expected to work, but it was okay. I was really tired at work on Friday.
Saturday, the 18th, I was incapacitated. I slept through most of the day. On Friday night, I was talking to my mom, and I felt the cold coming on. I took some NyQuil and I slept great, but when I woke up, I was sick. Water, juice, NyQuil, sleep, repeat.
It was just like that on Sunday, also. I skipped my docent gig. There was no way I could have stood out in the hot sun for four hours. I took at Covid test, and it was negative.
Thankfully today I worked at home. My brain was in a fog. I had to take breaks to lay down, and I slept through my lunch hour. The minute I put my work stuff away, I came up to bed and slept for three hours straight, missing my call with Lizzie. I had a concert volunteer shift tonight, but I skipped that. There’s just no way. I’m hoping I feel well enough to go to a concert I paid for later this week.
The cough is now productive, sitting way down in my chest. It feels like it’s hard to get a good, deep breath. The headache has subsided since I woke up. My nose is just a little stuffy. I think I’ll take another Covid test tonight, just to be sure.
Isn’t it wild that now pretty much the first thing we think when we have a cold or any ailment, it seems, is that it’s Covid?
Take care of yourselves, friends!
