#2768 Saturday with Sandy

Yesterday was extra long. I left the house at 6:30 in the morning and got home around 11 at night, so time at home today was important to me.

I spent the morning reading and drinking coffee. I had a lot of pages to read in the book club selection before our meeting this afternoon. I’m happy to say that I read all the pages I needed and had a good time participating in the discussion.

MT left for Idaho after lunch. He is going on a bus trip to South Dakota to see the sights there (Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Little Bighorn Battlefield, etc). This isn’t a random thing: his mom runs a program for senior citizens (and others, I guess)  at Idaho State University that sponsors these types of trips. MT’s brother, Kelly, and his wife planned to go on this trip, but my sister-in-law decided not to go, so Kelly asked MT if he wanted to come along. The price was reasonable and includes the bus trip, hotel accommodations for seven nights, some meals, and entrance fees to all the parks that will be visited. MT has not seen that part of the country, and I think he will enjoy being with his family. He told me there are 38 people going on the trip, and eight of them are related to him! LOL Family road trip on a bus!

After he left, I went shopping for art supplies for the Greece trip. I had a list, and I was still apprehensive and nervous about getting the wrong things. I actually got a nervous and sweaty! I was texting Lizzie pretty much the whole time. I got most of the stuff, but I did have to order a couple of things from Amazon. The craft store was out of gel pens.

I could have bought singles, but they were $2.50 each. I ended up buying a package of 33 pens on Amazon for $7.50. There was a package of gel pens at Target for $25, similar to the package shown here for $20.  I think ordering from Amazon was the right decision for me.

Now I am home, watching Utah football. The dogs are sleeping after spending some quality time out in the back yard, running and wrestling.

Yesterday, I spent a bunch of time volunteering at Red Butte Garden. Here are some photos I took there:

This tree is showing a lot of color at the top

I love the color of these anemones

This is one of my favorite spots in the Garden, and I love that white birch tree

Today I was reppin’ the book club:

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
