new music

An iTunes gift card was burning a hole in my pocket, and it had to be spent tonight. There's still a little bit left, but I put a dent in the balance.

I started off with a little Aretha Franklin, a greatest hits cd that included "Respect", "Chain of Fools" any my favorite "Think". It has others too that will be great listening. MT was hanging out with me and we talked about Nina Simone, so I got "I Put a Spell on You" and "Feeling Good". That genre made me think of a version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", the one by a man that starts with, "Ooooh, oooh, oooh" and has a bit of a ukulele sound or something. His name is Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, for your information. Changing gears completely, I felt the funk and went with Chaka Khan's "I Feel for You" and then "Candyman" by Christina Aguilera. I guess I was all over the place and it was great. We also browsed some Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald and Cab Calloway. Too much fun!
