#87 happy leap year day!

Don't you think February 29 should be a holiday? It only comes around every four years. Surely we should have the day off the celebrate this day that most of us will only see maybe 20 or 21 times in our lives.

Like my lovely sister, I enjoy looking back on the month to see if I accomplished anything relating to the goals (resolutions?) I set for myself. Except that now that I think about it, I didn't actually make any resolutions except to take better care of myself. Well, in February I had a pedicure and a dentist appointment. And, you know, a two vacation in the Caribbean. I would consider that taking good care of myself!

I need to tell you about my dentist appointment. I'm embarrassed to admit it has been a couple of years since I've been to the dentist. It's not that I'm scared of the dentist. I actually enjoy having my teeth cleaned. I got the reminder card a couple of Julys ago, and spaced off making the appointment. Now my teeth feel dirty, so that's why I called.

Anyway, Mike, my hygienist, didn't clean my teeth because the gum screening to detect gum disease actually detected gum disease! I have four pockets that are around five millimeters. That's the magic number for dentists to begin treating gum disease. Mike said that if I floss vigorously and regularly for the next couple of months, I may be able to treat the gum disease myself. I am scheduled for a deep cleaning on June 4, earlier if he gets a cancellation. You better believe that I've been flossing like a maniac for two days! When I told MT about it, he says every tooth in his mouth has a pocket that 10 to 15 millimeters. That's bad! On the good side, I don't have any cavities and my dentist says that my teeth and gums look good and the enamel on my teeth is excellent!

I hope that you are not tired and/or bored of vacation posts. I think I've written everything I have to write about our stay at the resort. Next I have a few stories about Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Barbados to share, as well as a couple of things to say about the cruise ship and the time we spent on board.

I'm not bored. In fact I'm really looking forward to hearing more and especially about the cruise ship :-)
