#88 the busy week ahead

Usually during the week I come home from work, make dinner, help T with his homework, watch a little TV or play on my computer. I rarely have something to do outside the house on school nights. Except this week.

Tonight T and I went to his school to attend a PTA fundraiser. It was dinner and a silent auction and raffles. I've never bid on anything in a silent auction before. I did tonight and I got what I wanted. What I bought was two tickets to the Hale Center Theater and a gift certificate to Red Robin. The play I got tickets for is "Annie Get Your Gun". I'm excited! Hale Center Theater is a cool place. That's where I saw "A Christmas Carol" in December. Fun!

Tomorrow and Wednesday I'll be home watching TV. On Thursday I will be seeing a play at Desert Star Theater along with my work buddies. At Desert Star they mostly perform spoof-type plays that are funny and Utah-ish. We'll be seeing "My Valley Fair Lady: Get Me to the Mall on Time." It's a take off on "My Fair Lady", of course, with a West Valley flair. It will probably be pretty funny.

On Friday the boys and I are going to a Utah Grizzlies hockey game. Last week some of the hockey team came to T's school for an assembly and they offered the kids free tickets and the option to buy tickets at a reduced price. We haven't been to a hockey game in awhile, so we decided to go for it. I'm looking forward to that. I love sports. I don't know much about hockey, but it's exciting when there is a goal. Or a fight.

On Saturday night we have our annual credit union meeting. I'm up for election this year, and I get to kick off the meeting. I'm a big fan of the credit union and I enjoy seeing all the people who come to the meeting. After the meeting, I'm going to a bachelorette party for my friend K. This should be fun, because I know some of the other ladies who are going and these chicks know how to have a good time! It will be fun, although I realized today that I will be the oldest person there, next to K's mom. OY!! When did I get to be the old one?!

That's just the stuff that's happening this week! Also this month my son will turn 10 years old. (Again, when did that happen? How can that be?) We'll have a birthday party for that. My parents are coming on Easter to spend the week. I was lucky enough to get us some Jazz tickets for when my family is in town.

I think spring is in the air just a little bit. Of course it is supposed to rain and snow tonight, but then it will clear back up the rest of the week. I can see just the slightest hint of green on some of the trees at my office. I hope I'm not just imagining and wishing for it. I'm ready for warmth and sun, please!

In the next post I will write about the lovely island of Guadeloupe. I even learned a little of the local Creole while I was there: Pa ni pwoblem! Bet you couldn't guess it means "No problem."

Yes, I guess I am experimenting. I get bored with the same one all the time. I think this is the 3rd time I've changed it. What do you think?
And yes, the folks are coming. I think T's 10th birthday has something to do with the decision :-)
