It was such a great evening! I watched my formerly beloved Atlanta Braves play on Opening Night against the Washington Nationals. I'm a little confused though because on Wednesday morning I watched the Red Sox play the Athletics in Japan. I think those games counted, so was that really Opening Day? But I know most every other major league team begins playing tomorrow, so is that Opening Day? OY! Baseball! Why do you confuse me so? Or should I just be really happy and grateful that there are so many Opening Days/Nights?
So I watched a little baseball in the evening. In the afternoon I watched the Jazz lose at Minnesota. The Jazz have got to figure out a way to win on the road, or the playoffs (assuming they are in the top eight teams in the West) will be a very short visit for the Jazz who probably won't have home-court advantage. It disappoints me that the team plays so poorly on the road. The Jazz are a very good team, especially at home. They just can't seem to put it together when they are on the road, and it's hard to watch that.
Speaking of the Jazz, we had the opportunity to see the game on Friday from the suite. They played the Clippers, and the Jazz beat them handily. Deron Williams dunked over Chris Kaman and it was a beautiful thing. I was lucky enough to be able to take my parents to the game, and they had a great time! My mom loves the food, especially the guacamole. She also had a slab of decadent chocolate cake. She was a happy, happy lady.
Mom and Dad headed back home today. They were probably really ready to go when they woke up and it was snowing. I wanted to climb in the back seat of the truck and go with them to the sunny So Cal. I didn't, though. I'll wait for spring to come and stay here in Utah. I'm really ready for warmth. I put my golf clubs in my car and I'm ready for some range time.
