Yesterday I went to the library. It's really about the only worthwhile thing I did yesterday. I was pretty lazy. I think I was suffering mild depression caused by the Jazz loss on Friday night. It really was a heartbreaker.
The Jazz were down by 19 points at half-time, and I pretty much thought it was over, but I laid on the couch and watched anyway. I admit I was dozing off a little here and there. But then the Jazz started to chip away at the Lakers' lead, then suddenly, the Jazz were only down by three points! They could do it! They could have staged a great, amazing comeback to win Game 6 and force Game 7! With the Jazz down by only two points, Derek Fisher of the Lakers made one free throw and missed one, so the Jazz were down by three points with about 15 seconds left. A three point shot would send the game to overtime. I was on the edge of my seat! My boyfriend Kyle Korver got the ball on the in-bound pass and shuffled it to Memo who had a good look, but he was about one step of of his comfort zone behind the arc. He missed. But the Jazz got the rebound and passed it out to Deron Williams. Williams had a good look, too, but his shot did not fall. Memo rebounded as time, and the Jazz's season, ran out. Oh the sadness at my house. It just sucks. The Jazz were really fun to watch this year. Now that the Jazz are out, I will still watch basketball, but I won't change my plans to watch a game, like I would if the Jazz were playing.
Anyway...I went to the library. I picked up three books, all by women authors that I've read and enjoyed. In addition, I'm reading the new novel by Jennifer Weiner, Certain Girls. I like her books. Then, in my closet, I noticed a bag of Janet Evanovich novels my mother-in-law gave me to read, so I started reading the second Stephanie Plum book, Two for the Dough. The books I picked up at the library? One by Kris Radish, another by Sophie Kinsella, and one by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. No serious stuff for me this month!
Today Dad, T and I went to Lowe's to buy fence parts. I also bought a lovely Japanese maple tree. He's small, but he will grow and provide beauty and shade by my TV room window. I'm really excited about the fence. I'm not sure, but I think my dad is happy to have a project to work on, too. And I'm prtty sure that he is happy that after nearly six years of living in this house, we are finally doing something to the backyard. My dad's yard is very nice and relaxing. He has some ideas, aside from the fence, to make my yard a little nicer, too. YAY!
It was quite warm here this weekend. We turned the AC on today and it's good. It's supposed to cool down on Tuesday and rain. I didn't go hit golf balls this weekend. Saturday I was a slug and today I was shopping, so it didn't work out for me. I better get cracking, though. I think I'll be playing in a little scramble on the 30th! I don't want to stink up my team.
