#119 american idol and more free time

Tonight was the finale of American Idol. I was pretty into it this season. I don't really like to watch the Wednesday night show because I think they drag it on too long. But I had to watch tonight. Here's something strange: all season I've liked David Cook. I like his voice, I like that he rocks, I've thought he was the best. I like David Archuleta too. He has a beautiful, sweet voice and he's a cute little muppet, but I like Cook better. I thought he could win and I thought it would be cool if he did.

So why did I feel so bummed when Cook won? Did I subconsciously want David A to win? Was it just my hope that the home town would get a win? (Archuleta is from Murray, another suburb of SLC. I actually used to live in Murray.)

T was very sad, which is funny because he didn't really watch the show that much. I didn't think he was so invested in David A.

Well, now that my favorite reality shows are over and the Jazz are no longer playing, maybe I will actually spend my time doing other things than sitting in front of the TV. I can:

work in the yard
read more books
create my 2008 vacation scrapbook
exercise
learn a new language (I have a Spanish cd-rom and I'm going to use it!)
blog more often
call my family and friends
take pictures
take the dog for a walk
play games with my son
jump on the trampoline
watch movies (that may involve the TV, but it's different, isn't it?)
play golf
take a community ed class

Hopefully this list will inspire me to get busy and do something with my evenings! That is, until the next round of reality TV shows start.

Why not learn Swedish while you're at it :-) I'm here to help you know. I loved the American Idol show and I loved that Cook won! I even shed one or two tears but then I'm so easily moved. Manga kramar till er alla fran Mia (there - your first Swedish lesson)

David A has a great voice but he seemed in the verge of tears all the time, sort of immature, he's only 17, too much pressure had he won. David C was a good choice I think. They both will do well anyway :)
Good luck with your projects :)
