On Thursday night we didn't turn on the TV. Dad was reading in the front room; I was reading on the couch in the TV room; MT was upstairs reading or playing computer solitaire. I think T might have been watching a dvd on his TV, but I'm not sure because I was on my soft, cushiony yellow-gold couch under my fluffy, warm pink blanket, reading and then snoozing. It was great!
Tonight Dad had the Lakers game on, but it was so boring we both fell asleep. This time he was on the magic couch and I was in the Queen's Chair. Both of us were snoring through the fourth quarter. Before I slept, though, I finished my book. Jennifer Weiner rules!
After work this afternoon I stopped by Kohls to drop off my credit card payment. While I was there, I sprayed on a little perfume - Ralph Lauren Blue Turquoise; I love it! - and went browsing. I ended up with some pants and two tops. The pants were a total steal: regular $40, reduced to $16, reduced at the register to $8. They are Dockers and they are pretty cute, black with little stripes. I have no idea what I'll wear with them, but it will be fun to try. I like the shirts a lot, too, but they weren't quite the deal the trousers were. Except the Kohls lady may have given me a bargain on one; it rang up at $16 and that seems cheap for how cute the shirt is! (The one I got didn't have a tag on it and I don't remember what the same one in a different size said for the price.)
Dad is working on the fence in between dodging raindrops. I think we'll do some work on it this weekend. I will probably plant my tree. It's supposed to be rainy this weekend. GRRR. I had to turn the heat back on after having the AC going earlier in the week. No wonder my throat is scratchy. The weather is confusing!
Tomorrow is MT's birthday. Here's what he wants to do: work on his rental, eat a steak at Chili's, and see the new Indiana Jones movie. Easy! I got him a fun birthday gift that I will benefit from, also, so I'm excited to give him the gift. MT's mom and step-dad are coming for the weekend. I think it's awesome that Linda is coming to spend MT's birthday with him. I know that she has been working on a really special gift, and I can't wait to see it and to see his reaction to it.
I'm completely happy to have a three-day weekend!
