#126 landscaping ain't cheap OR the $1000 path

We had this conversation at our house on Monday night:

MT: Um, hon, I think I screwed up on the dimensions of that path. Do you remember what I told the guy at Home Depot?

ME: 75 feet.

MT: Yeah, that's only the length from one corner of the house to the other. I forgot about the part from the sidewalk to the house. I'm out of material. We need to go get more. A lot more.

ME: How much more, do you think?

MT: Oh, about double what we got on Sunday.

I choked on my pasta. (Whole wheat pasta with turkey spaghetti sauce. Yummy!)

MT: Landscaping ain't cheap.

So last night the three of us headed over to Lowe's for more path supplies. We got 207 square paver stones, which I loaded myself, and 257 rectangle stones that MT and T loaded. We also got four more 50 pound bags of sand and eight 50 pound bags of pea gravel. It took two of those flat carts and they were heavy. MT's got a flat tire. I pushed mine to the front of the store. What a workout! Then we loaded the stones onto the truck, then unloaded them at our house. The three of us worked really hard and got it done. It was a nice team effort. We were exhausted at the end and hit McDonalds on the way home from loading the truck. (I had a salad that I was too tired to finish.)

MT has really been working hard on the path. He used up all the sand he bought - we bought all they had - and now the path is up to the house. Hey, that means there's about 75 feet to go!

The diet seems to be going pretty well. It takes a little foresight and planning for me to figure out what I'm going to eat and not go over my daily points allowance. Since I like to plan, though, that's not a problem. It's almost a game. T helps me with the math and figuring out what I can have. I'll have a weigh-in tomorrow night. Here's hoping for a loss!

1. I love that the Celtics crushed the Lakers in Game 6 to win the title. It was awesome.
2. I couldn't understand a thing Kevin Garnett said in his post-game interview. Was he speaking English?
3. Paul Pierce isn't fat, even though he looks like he is. Even my friend Jeremy thinks so. I thought I was the only one thinking that.
4. Pierce was the right guy to be the Finals MVP.
5. Ray Allen seems like a nice guy.
