#130 notes from the week

First things first...I dropped 3.2 pounds this week bringing my total since I began on June 7 to 15 pounds! I'm so happy and excited! I have had to work at it, but it hasn't been terribly difficult. I feel better already in many ways. My knees haven't hurt as much. I don't feel so jiggly when I'm exercising. I can feel a difference in the way my clothes fit. And I want to keep doing it! I don't know that I have ever felt so motivated to do something. When I think about reaching my first goal, now only 10 pounds away, all I can think is, "I want that!" Then I think about the next goal and where my weight will be and how I will feel and I want that too. These past four weeks have been good; I know there will be tough ones ahead, but I'm clear on what I want to do. I think it is too early to say that I have adopted a new lifestyle because I still struggle with my choices sometimes. It's not habit yet. But I'm hopeful.

T has been in Pocatello this week with his paternal grandparents. I've only talked to him once, but I'm sure he's having fun. We are going to pick him up tomorrow and spend the night in Poky. We've got a lot of fireworks to set off tomorrow night. MT bought a bunch in Wyoming a couple of weekends ago and a friend at work gave me a big package of fireworks this week. I'll just go on the record as saying I'm opposed to regular people lighting off fireworks, especially when it is so dry here. I am afraid of fireworks and I stay well away from them. I know that most people really like them, especially the kids, so I won't be a party-pooper.

I just finished downloading the pictures from our weekend in Jackson and the family reunion. Here are a couple of my favorites:
The Tetons and the Snake River. Wow!

Sunset over Bear Lake

Both of those weekends deserve their own posts, so all I'll say right now is that we had a great time at both events. I hadn't been to Jackson in years and it was as gorgeous as I remember. I've never been to Bear Lake and it was really pretty there and I enjoyed myself a lot. The camping in the tent was just fine and I'd do it again.

Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
