#140 15th wedding anniversary

It was 15 years ago today that MT and I tied the knot at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas. We lived in Pocatello at the time and we thought Vegas would be cool because all both of our families would travel and it would be nearly half-way for both. My maid of honor was my sister; his best man was one of his brothers. My dad walked me down the aisle. My college roommate was there; many of MT's cousins came.

We arrived in Vegas on Friday the 13th of August. It was really hot, as Las Vegas often is in the middle of August. I remember carrying my dress across the parking lot and stepping on it, ripping a hole in the seam and leaving a footprint that I wouldn't find until Sunday morning, about an hour before the ceremony. I think I remember that Friday night we found the Uno's Pizza for dinner. I don't remember much about Saturday except for my bachelorette party. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe. I drank merrily, including doing a shot called, well I won't write what it is called because I know my son sometimes reads this and I'm just not ready to explain it yet. Let's just say you can't use your hands, you wrap your lips around the shot glass and drink it down. I really don't remember much about the rest of the night - it was 15 years ago, after all! - but I know I was pretty hung-over on Sunday morning.

15 years is a long time! We celebrated tonight by going to a restaurant we've never been to before, but always wanted to go to, Tepanyaki. It's a Japanese steakhouse where they cook the food at your tepanyaki table. It was delicious! We were happy to have MT's parents join us, as well as our darling, adorable son. I had teriyaki chicken with rice; MT had rib eye. He gave me a little piece of the steak...wow! It was delicious. We didn't do any gifts, and I was okay with that.

I am totally happy it is Friday night. Work has been crazy for the past couple of weeks and I'm glad to have a break. Although it's not a total break. Tomorrow night is the company summer party at the zoo. I will see people from work there. We basically rent the zoo for the evening so only Granite people will be there. We did it last year and it was really fun not to have the crowds.
On Sunday I did a little shopping. I bought some new pants and a couple of tops. It was fun to get a smaller size in everything. The clothes feel so much better, too. The pants fit but are not tight or binding. I like that. I want more of that.

I'm weighing in tomorrow morning. I'm hoping for two pounds, but after the late dinner tonight I'm not sure what will happen. I've been pretty good this week, except for exercising. I've been staying up late watching the Olympics, so I haven't felt like getting up early to ride my bike. Can you blame me though? How can you not watch Michael Phelps? He's phenomenal! The gymnastics have been great, and I love the beach volleyball. Everyone in my house has a crush on Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. :0) They're cool chicks. We also love watching the men's basketball team. We are big NBA fans, so it's great. We are especially cheering for our Jazz-men, Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer. USA! USA!

Happy weekend, everyone!
