First things first: I lost 2.4 lbs last week! That was great. It was definitely more than I expected. The whole thing is starting to feel a little more natural, finally. I find that I don't have to think as hard when making eating choices, although I still have to fight the urge to indulge in things that are probably not the best choices. I didn't exercise as often as I should have last week because I was going into the office early. I'll be working on doing better in the exercise aspect this week.
Overall, I'm pleased with my progress. I feel good. Just the pressure off my knees is worth every change I've made. I still don't feel deprived. I haven't felt frustrated about not having this or that.

OK...this is the time of year when MT and I start talking about next year's vacation. Since we went so big this year, we agreed that in 2009 we'd take it easy and not spend as much money as we did last year, so we decided we'd probably go to Mexico, specifically Cozumel. I love to sit on the beach and play in the water or read. I can do that for hours. MT wants to learn to dive and he enjoys snorkeling. Did you know the second largest coral reef in the world is off Cozumel?
Then MT received some coupons from Royal Caribbean, including one for a cruise we'd looked at that we would really enjoy. It starts in Barcelona and one of the stops is Alexandria, Egypt. The pyramids! We drooled over that cruise, and here was a coupon for $100 off a room. If there was a way we could afford it, we'd be headed to Spain in March. Sadly, it's not meant to be 2009. The stateroom rates have gone up by about $200/person from the published price in the catalog, so even with the coupon, that's higher than we expected. The flights are expensive, of course. Plus we'd want to stay in Spain for a few extra days to see the family and to look around the gorgeous city of Barcelona. There are so many things I'd like to see there and to show the boys! That will just have to wait for another time, though; a year when we "go big" like we did this year. It's funny because I was perfectly happy with the idea of Cozumel before we thought of this cruise. Now it seems like Cozumel is just second best. I'm spoiled.

I've really enjoyed this three-day weekend. Saturday I went to the WW meeting and then to the gym for the Zumba class. I did pretty well for the first 60 minutes. In the last 30 minutes, though, my feet will not do what my brain tells them at all. It's a little embarrassing. I end up just wagging my bum from side to side and moving my hands around because my feet will not move. I like the music. It reminds me of vacation!
Yesterday T and I played our weekly round of golf. This time we played the executive side so we could ride in a cart (T's idea). I'd rather walk because it gives me a little activity, but it is fun to ride in the cart and he loved it. We had lots of fun. He's going to be needing new clubs next year. The ones he has are too short for him now.
This morning MT and I went to Ikea. We received the Ikea catalog with the newspaper a few weeks ago and MT thumbed through it. He'd never been to the store, so we went over there a week or so ago. We bought blinds for the rental and ate meatballs. Today we bought bookcases for the basement. He was going to build bookcases, but realized there was no way he could make them for less than we could buy them at Ikea. We're hooked!
The other things I've done a lot of this weekend is watch movies. On Friday night I watched "Ella Enchanted", "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton", and part of "My Best Friend's Wedding." On Saturday I watched Utah beat Michigan in college football (Go Utes!), then we went to see "Hancock" at the dollar movie. Yesterday I watched "John Tucker Must Die" on HBO. I'm not sure what I'll watch today, but I'm feeling like watching something!
Hope you all enjoyed your three days off!
