I had a big, important day yesterday. I lost 3.6 lbs for the week, bringing my total to 60.8 and dropping my overall weight below 200 for the first time in at least 12 years.
It was a very emotional moment for me. I knew I'd be close, but the scale at WW is my official scale. When the lady there wrote down my weight, she started with a 2. I was kinda crushed, then she grabbed the White-Out and said, "Oops! I jumped the gun there!" I thought about all the exercise and saying no the Mexican food and being careful and watching what I eat and everything, then the WW lady said some nice things - how the weight I've lost is inspiring and that I've been doing so great - and it just all rolled together and I got teary. Then the lady said, "I just want to hug you!" and then I just cried. It was too much.
I think it was the first time that I have actually felt proud of myself. Just like in the last two weeks I gained, I knew that I had done that to myself and I was responsible for that. I am also responsible for the loss I had this week and all the weeks before this to get to 60. I did that. I'm doing it!
So I went into the meeting, which was very full, and I sat in the back next to a lady who I know to be a lifetime member (meaning she has reached her goal and maintained it for a certain period of time.) She asked me if I'd had a bad morning. I told her that I hadn't, the opposite was true, then the meeting started and I calmed down and everything was fine. At the end of the meeting the leader was handing out the gold stars indicating the five pound losses. I raised my hand and told the lady next to me about my accomplishment. She was psyched for me and I thought that was cool. When Shari (the Leader) came over to give me the star, she asked how much I'd lost. When I told her, she turned around to the room and shouted, "This girl has lost 60 pounds!" I loved her for so many reasons at that moment! I also got a "Bravo" star for dropping below the 200 mark. So awesome!!
After the WW meeting I went to Zumba which was packed almost to the point of being a full contact dance class. It was still fun, though.
When I got home, LA called me to tell me about her son's picture on the front page of the sports section in our local paper. Side note: LA and I used to work at that paper; that's where we met and bonded into BFF. I got to tell her about my good news and she was so cool. I really missed being with her in that moment.
That's been a tough thing. At the WW meetings, it seems like everyone is there with someone. They have a buddy that they can to to the meetings with. I just tell myself that it makes me stronger because I do go alone. I do have lots of support, and I just pretend that you guys are all there with me, standing behind me and cheering for me when I have a good week.
The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. T and I went to the library, then to see the movie "Bedtime Stories" (loved it!), then we went to Target. I bought two new bathing suits for our trip to Mexico, then we had some dinner and watched the movie "Iron Man" on blu-ray. It was a good show. I only fell asleep a little. It was a big day!
I'll try to do better about posting a little more frequently this month. We've got some fun things coming up. T will finish his Jr Jazz season on Saturday. I'm hoping to get to Poky to watch LA's son's final regular season home game, we're getting ready for the cruise, then the last week of February we'll be sailing along the Mexican Riviera. Good times! I hope you all had a good January, that you're sticking with your resolutions, and I wish you a happy February.
PS: Did you see the Superbowl? Holy crap, the last quarter was awesome!

Congratulations on your BIG weight loss. I'm so proud of you and I have followed you all the way and although I'm not there in flesh I'm with you in thoughts.
Also going there by yourself makes it even a bigger achievment since it's always easier if you are two.
Keep it up and once again big congratulations
Hugs Mia :-)
