#449 a very unwelcome home

Osi went to doggie daycare today. I think she has lots of fun there with the other dogs. She certainly is mellow and quiet at home in the evening after a day there. I like it!

Tonight when we got home, Osi immediately went to get a drink of water, then headed to the TV room to see who was around. I was putting my stuff down and taking off my jacket when Osi stopped in her tracks and almost ran me over going the other way. I peered around the corner and saw something laying in front of her kennel. It looked suspiciously like...

I called, and when I say called, I mean yelled, for my husband. He jumped off the couch like it was on fire - as a good husband should when his wife frantically calls him!

"What is that?" I said, pointing to the thing on the floor.

"What is what?" he asked, sounding maybe a little bit annoyed.

"THAT! It's right in front of you!" I yelped.

(You know what it was, don't you? This is where the ICK factor kicks in.)

It was a stiff dead mouse.

{{SHUDDER}}

Osi was acting like she was terrified, so I'm pretty sure she didn't bring it in. I don't know where it came from, how long it had been there, but MT reported that it was both cold AND stiff.

I asked T about it and he said he had just seen it and ran away.

We haven't seen any mouse droppings around the house. When we've had mice before, the first thing I noticed was that my bread was snacked upon. GROSS.

My friend Julie and I were just talking about mice the other day and we were saying it's about that time when the disgusting little creatures find their way inside where it's warm. EWWW.

It's a very disturbing situation. I'll keep you posted.
