#1166 two new recipes

One thing that I like to do is browse through Pinterest. Are you on Pinterest? You should be. It's pretty cool. It's an online bulletin board, full of ideas about weddings and gardening and food and travel and well, pretty much anything you can think of.  Sometimes I find lots of interesting things and I repin a lot.

I had several bananas that were getting pretty black. Usually I just make banana bread (from a great recipe I found on Pinterest!) but I wanted to try something new. I found this recipe for banana snack cake and I decided to try it tonight. SO GOOD! The cake was tender and moist and very banana-y. I made half the recipe for the frosting and it was the perfect amount. MT has already had two servings of the cake, and even T thought it was good.

This is NOT the pic I took, but my cake looked just like this!
There was another recipe that I pinned yesterday that was not banana-related. I like grilled cheese sandwiches, and I like the flavor of buffalo chicken, and this recipe combines the two. I happened to have some chicken in my fridge and I had pretty much everything else, too. (Well, I didn't have celery or red onion, but I would have skipped those things anyway.) Let me just tell you how tasty this sandwich was! It was toasty and cheesy. I had quite a bit of bleu cheese in there, so it was tangy. The chicken was very good, but I don't think I used enough of Franks's Red Hot. I wanted a little more spice. Overall, though, WOW! I'd have that sandwich again! It was filling, too. I ate it right before I went to the grocery store, and I was thoroughly uninterested in buying any of the extra things that I would normally get if I went to the store hungry.

This is the photo from the recipe website.

I ate waaaaay too much today, but tomorrow is a new chance to make good choices. :)

One last thought to finish up the weekend:
