#1174 and now he shaves

Last Friday the three of us went to dinner and a movie and T's friend Trent came along with us. I like Trent because he makes me laugh and gives me insight on my son that I don't get otherwise, much to T's dismay sometimes.

Trent was teasing T about his facial hair and telling him that he needed to shave. Of course I noticed that T had some whiskers, but I figured he would speak up when he was ready to get rid of them. Silly me. I told MT that shaving was totally his department and that he should take T to the store to get whatever supplies he needed to shave, if T was ready.

I guess he was, because on Saturday night, the whiskers came off. It was quite the spectacle. There was T, his face covered with shaving cream. There was MT, coaching on the proper amount of pressure to use on the face with the razor. There were whiskers being delicately shaved off the face. It was fun to watch, and a little sad too. There's another step away from being my little boy.

A couple of my friends have little boys and I enjoy hearing what their sons are doing. I remember when T was little and how great he was then, but man, it's great to watch T grow into a young man.

I finished a book! Check out the 2014 Reading List page.
