#1193 date night movie: Maleficent
When I was a kid, Sleeping Beauty was one of my favorite Disney movies and Maleficent was one of the scariest Disney villains. She just looked so scary with those eyes and that skin and all those angles. And she turns herself into a dragon! Scary!!
All that being said, I could not wait to see the new film Maleficent. For one thing, Angelina Jolie looks A-MAZING! Her cheekbones look sharp enough to cut glass.
MT and I went to see the movie this afternoon. T decided not to come with us. I think he was bitter that we didn't go see the movie that he wanted to see, A Million Ways to Die in the West. It was his loss. I loved Maleficent!
At first I wasn't sure if I would like it. Fairies and fantasy creatures, outside of Harry Potter, are not really my thing. Then relaxed and went with it and got caught up in it all. I even cried in a couple of places. Not really crying, but definitely tear-y.
There were many people in the movie, but four stood out. First, the guy who played King Stefan. I didn't really like him. Then there was the guy who was the crow (he was a crow, then Maleficent turns him into a man or whatever creature she needs). He was good. Elle Fanning was Aurora, and I thought she was good.
She is young and pretty and fresh-faced and I liked her as Aurora.
This movie belonged to Angelina, though. She was magnificent. Like I said, she looked amazing and I loved everything about her. She had this way of looking at something, gazing imperiously over those cheekbones with those wicked green eyes and you could not take your eyes off her. She was awesome.
Did I mention that I loved this movie? Good job Disney!
