#1212 my thoughts on fireworks
Today is Independence Day here in the U.S.A. I like that the 4th is on Friday this year, because then we have the three-day weekend!
Our family doesn't really do anything special on the 4th of July. I don't care for parades or fireworks. Tonight I will sit on the deck in the backyard and watch whatever fireworks I can see from there, but we don't go anywhere special to watch them. When T was little, MT would buy fireworks and they would light them in the street - lots of people do that. They have stopped doing it though. I don't think fireworks should be sold to the public. I think fireworks should only be done by licensed professionals. I'm a fireworks scrooge, I guess. It's just so hot and dry here and things can go wrong if someone is not paying attention.
Today MT worked on the rental. I cleaned our house. T and I finally set up the hammock he gave me for my birthday (a month ago!) It was easy; I'm just lazy. T laid in the hammock for awhile this afternoon. It has a canopy on it to provide shade. He looked pretty comfy.
It's getting dark now, so I'm off to sit on the deck. Hope you all have a happy and safe 4th!
