#1383 Friday matinee: The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Today I did something I've never done before: I took the afternoon off from work and went to a movie.  Actually, maybe I have done it before, but I had always planned it. This time it was a spur-of-the-moment, it's-still-slow-time, just-go kind of thing.

I went to see The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. I'd seen the first one on video and I liked it and most of the same people are back in this second movie. I would say it is not as good as the first movie, but I still enjoyed it.

The film was shown in one of the larger auditoriums at the theater complex and it was surprisingly full for a 1:00 show. I was probably the youngest person in attendance, too. :)

I really like Maggie Smith and Judi Dench. If only Helen Mirren had been in the movie! She's my other favorite older British lady actress.

My favorite part of the movie was the wedding and the dancing.

I have a fascination with India. I love to read about it and see movies about it. I don't know if I would like to go there; I think it might be too overwhelming somehow. A lady that I know went there for a couple of weeks and thought it was pretty great. I think I would like the Goa region, but India is pretty low on my travel bucket list right now. Maybe someday.

It felt pretty decadent to be at a movie at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Friday. I quite liked it!
