It's been a busy day, but it is slowing down now. This morning was a whirlwind though. Here's what I did.
I was up early, around 7 am. First stop was the Weight Watchers meeting. I usually go to the 10 am meeting, but I wanted to go to Zumba which starts at 9, so the early WW meeting was the better option. For the Saturday after Thanksgiving, the room was packed. I guess everyone wanted to know their own fallout from eating pie and mashed potatoes and rolls. I gained a couple of pounds, although I suspect that last week's weight was inaccurate. Oh well. I know where I am and I know it could have been a LOT worse.
After the meeting I went straight over to the gym for Zumba. There was a different-than-usual instructor this morning. Her Zumba class is a bit less intense than some of the other instructors. I broke a sweat, but I wasn't dripping and gross like I normally am. The trickiest part about Zumba is taking a class from an instructor whose routines you don't know. Deborah's moves were pretty easy to pick up, but there was some flailing on my part. LOL
Came home for a quick breakfast and a quick shower before I went over to the Red Cross to donate blood. I have O+ which is the most common blood type so it is very much needed. The past couple of years I have been giving a double red donation, or as they call it now, Power Red donation. Basically, the red blood cells are separated from all the other parts of the blood. The Red Cross keeps the pure red cells and the donor gets everything else back along with a little saline. You end up donating two pints of blood in the Power Red donation, so the time between donations is longer. The Power Red donation also takes about double the time than a regular whole blood donation. I don't mind. I feel good to be able to donate my blood. I hope that it helps someone.
Feeling all giving and happy, I stopped off at Target to pick up some stuff that I needed at home and decided to do a little shopping for my Secret Santa person. At my office, we draw a name to give gifts to secretly. (It's a voluntary thing). Typically you give small things throughout the three week period and you want to be secret - you don't want your person to guess who you are. Right before Christmas we have a lunch where everyone gets a chance to guess who their Secret Santa is. I didn't play last year, so this year I am in the mood for it. I started out with a couple of ideas for what to get my person, then I really got into it and picked out some things that I think my person will like. I like all of the things. I'm excited to start giving! It's fun to listen to your person exclaim, hopefully in delight, about the little gifts they find on their desk.
I was a little tired of leftovers, so MT and I had salads from Cafe Rio for a late lunch/early dinner. I have a goal to finish the two books I'm reading by tomorrow night, so after I ate, I finished one of the books. (Check out the Reading List page for info!) Oh yeah - I also went to the library this afternoon and picked up a couple of more books. One of them is a seven day loaner, so I've got to get cracking on it because I have to return it next Saturday. I think I will like the book, though, since it's by one of my most favorite authors. Seven days shouldn't be a problem.
Now it's time to relax and watch some TV. I'm going to watch the early showing of Ghost Adventures, then the final Utah football game of the regular season. I will probably be doing a little switching back and forth between Utah football and Jazz basketball and also probably finishing that other book.
I hope y'all are having a great weekend!
