#2190 weekend wrap-up

...aaaaannnnddd it's already late Sunday afternoon. How do Saturdays and Sundays go by so fast?

I'm writing a bit earlier than I usually do because tonight my Utah Jazz are playing at 7:30 in Game 1 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. I'm looking forward to that! MT and T are looking forward to the first episode of the final season of Game of Thrones. I haven't ever watched a full episode of that show, but I've seen snippets because MT binges it. I don't know if it's my thing. There's a lot of violence and some sex and a whole bunch of characters. I just haven't got into it.

This weekend has been pretty busy. I had a lot of options for how I wanted Saturday morning to go, but in the end I stuck with my original plan. I drove to WW (gain), then hit Starbucks on my way up to Red Butte Garden where I recorded what was blooming in the Children's Garden. It was a little bit chilly up there and there was snow on the ground in places, but mostly it was really beautiful. The leaves are starting to pop out on all the trees. The place is full of daffodils and other blooming bulbs - no tulips though! There was a goal to plant half a million bulbs in the garden last fall and I think they succeeded. It's so pretty! Here's a little sample:

My next stop was to the day spa to get a pedicure since I'm going on vacation next week to southern California and I fully expect to be wearing sandals. Gotta have cute toes!

The spa is in the same area as a movie theater, so I decided to catch a matinee of the film Little. It's Big in reverse and with women. It was all right. I really, really liked the young lady who was little Jordan, Marsai Martin. She was sassy and and funny. Issa Rae was terrific also.

Last night I went to bed kind of early. I was tired and there wasn't anything I wanted to watch on TV, so why not get a little extra sleep? That kinda backfired on me when I woke up at 3:00 and couldn't get back to sleep. I read and finished a book.

This morning MT had our regularly scheduled breakfast date at Black Bear Diner. I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but when we sat down, our server already knew what we were going to order. She nailed it. We're pretty predictable in our old age LOL.

The past couple of weeks we have added going for a walk after breakfast. The fitness center has an outdoor track that is just over a mile long. Today we only went around once because my tummy was feeling unsettled and it was sprinkling rain. I was kind of cold.

When we got home we watched Tiger Woods win The Masters golf tournament. I am happy for Tiger. He has gone through a lot of injuries and surgeries in the past few years, not to mention changing hitting coaches several times. To see him win a major championship again was wonderful. The last major he won was in 2008 (the U.S. Open) and the last time he won at The Masters was in 2005. I loved it when he hugged his kids. So sweet. Yep, I got teary-eyed. I love stuff like that.

MT and I have both been puttering around the house doing some clean-up and catching up on  paperwork. I'm going to go cook up some tacos here in a minute. My tacos are delicious. I'm excited to eat them.

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!
