#2343 be careful out there

I was planning on writing a very different post tonight, but things change, and now I want to write about coronavirus.

This evening I was planning to watch an hour of the Utah Jazz game on TV before changing over to Survivor. The pre-game was finished, the list of players who wouldn't be participating the game was gold. The Jazz's all-star center was out tonight due to illness. The teams got on the court and were ready to tip-off. The arena was full of people. Suddenly, the referees gathered together to talk and then pulled in the coaches. Within a few minutes, both teams went to their locker rooms, as did the refs. It was announced that the game was suspended while the NBA determined if the game should be played at all. That all happened by about 6:30 mountain time.

About an hour later, the NBA suspended the rest of the season indefinitely as at least one player has tested positive for COVID-19. The named player is the Jazz's own Rudy Gobert, all-star center.

Here's a story from ESPN.com about it.

The World Health Organization offically called the spread of coronavirus a "pandemic" today. A. PANDEMIC. That's the stuff of sci-fi stories and end-of-the-world movies. Not real life. The shit got real fast and it's scary as hell.

I was at the grocery store this weekend. Think of all the places you have been where there are lots of people in the past week.

Be careful out there. Wash your hands. Don't panic. It's going to be okay. Right?

It'll be fine, just be cautious and avoid crowds if possible. Love you :)
