Today I woke up to the sound of Mac squeaking her Bacon Ball toy right in my ear. SQUEAK SQUEAK SQUEAK. I may have thrown it off the bed at which point she jumped off the bed, found the ball and squeaked it all over the room and then she threw it under the bed, after which she whined and scratched until I had to get out of bed to get the dang ball. Once I was out of bed, I was up. It was 6:37.
I sat out on the back deck while Mac ran around the yard playing with whatever she could put her teeth on. When she got bored, we went for a walk at the park. We walked about a mile and a half this morning. She is often pretty squirrely for the first 15 minutes or so, then she settles down. She still pulls when she sees another dog or smells something really enticing, but she's pretty good.
When we got back home she played with her toys until she finally tuckered out for a nap. T wandered downstairs around that time and laid down with her. MT has gone to Idaho to see his family at the cabin. I read and thought about what I wanted to accomplish in September.
After a quick and unrefreshing nap, I ran some errands. I returned two library books. I went to Target. I took some glass to the recycling bin. I got myself some fish and chips from the food truck that finally returned to the neighborhood. I hadn't had fish and chips from On the Hook in months. It tasted so amazing!
This evening I took T over to his friend's house, then I took Mac for a walk around the park near their house. So many new smells for Mac. It was nice to walk at a new park for a little change.
I want to take Mac to a dog park, but I'm not entirely sure she would come back when I call her, so I'll wait until we are done with puppy training class. I think we'll be working on come when called in the last couple of classes. Later this month, look out dog park...Mac's coming to play!
Now Mac and I are hanging out. I'm watching Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu.
