The worst (and best) is over. The meal is done and surprisingly, everything was ready at the same time, on time, and tasted good! That's the most nerve-wracking part, isn't it, trying to make sure the timing is right for everything. We fed the kids first. They had ham, mac & cheese, salad and cupcakes. There were 6 kids eating that. Then the adults had prime rib, smashed potatoes, broccoli and salad. There were 8 of us. I thought it worked out really well having the kids eat first (thanks Mom!) There was plenty of everything and I think everyone got to eat as much as they wanted of everything. The clean-up was pretty easy, too because we used plastic plates that we just threw away so all I had to wash was silverware and serving bowls. For dessert there were lots of different kinds of pies and treats as well as coffee or tea, and lots and lots of conversation.
I admit that I am tired. I can't believe it's only 8:00. Everyone is feeling tired, I think. The plan for the rest of the night is to watch movies, I think. I don't know how many people will make it through a whole movie, though. Tomorrow, since the lack of snow has put the kibosh on the skiing plan, I think we'll go to a movie (Enchanted if us girls have our way!) and maybe do a little shopping.
