#73 second wind

Sometimes I get a second wind in the evening around 10:00. That's what is going on with me tonight. I got on my computer to pay some bills, then with that job done, I decided to look at my sister's favorite blogs that I like too, and now I'm writing when I really should be getting in bed because it's nearly 11 and I'm tired.

This week I watched the mini-series "Comanche Moon." This is note-worthy mainly because it is the first TV show with actors playing characters and speaking dialogue from a script that I have seen in quite awhile. I mostly seem to watch the so-called reality shows and sports. I watched "Comanche Moon" because it was a prequel to "Lonesome Dove", a book and a show that I really like. "Comanche Moon" didn't disappoint me. Steve Zahn was very good as young Gus McCrae, the character brought to life by Robert Duvall in "Lonesome Dove." Robert Duvall was wonderful as Gus, and Zahn was great. He adopted mannerisms that Duvall had in his Gus, and it was really fun to watch. In my humble opinion, Gus McCrae is one the best characters ever written. I loved him in the books and on film.

Tonight I watched the Jazz get clobbered by the Denver Nuggets. It was painful to watch and I turned it off with 5 minutes left to play and the Jazz down by 20. Ouch.

After the Monday when no one liked my food, I tried another new recipe on Tuesday. This one did not involve whole wheat products. I cooked some salmon topped with diced tomatoes, garlic, lemon juice, herbs, a touch of olive oil, salt and pepper. I wrapped the salmon fillets in foil and baked it for 25 minutes or so. Yum! They turned out really well; even T liked it. I got the recipe from the Everyday Italian cookbook T gave me for Christmas. Maybe I should tell him all the recipes come from that book. Since he gave it to me, he likes everything I make from those recipes. Well, I've only made 2 things, but he liked them both!

Time for bed now. No more rambling.
