A few days ago at work I was talking with my friends K and B. We were talking about funny people at work. (And I mean funny as in clever and witty and not funny as in quirky and a bit off.) We all agreed that the three of us are hilarious (of course!) and that you have to be a little bit smart to be funny. Then we all felt good about ourselves and went on with our day. Sometimes that's all you really need, isn't it? You need to hang out with people who "get" you and who make you feel good about yourself.

Speaking of people who make you feel good about yourself, I was delighted when my phone rang tonight and my sister was on the other end of the line! She was on her way to Carlsbad for her sweetheart's gig, and I had just come home from work. We caught up on what we have going on and what we've been doing. We probably don't talk enough. We email and read each other's blogs. I miss her and it was a treat to hear her voice. Thanks L!

So now we are only 2 work days away or 4 real days away from vacation. We are pretty excited. I am so tired of snow and wind and cold weather. It has really been a mean winter. Just the thought of lounging on a white sandy beach in the Dominican Republic is what is getting me through these cold days and nights. I think we have most everything we need. This weekend we'll get the last-minute things like travel-size shaving cream and toothbrush covers. I will probably also obsess about things that I will forget and things that I haven't thought to do. I'll try to be mellow though.

This hasn't been a great post but I haven't done anything blog-worthy since my last post I guess. We've been doing homework every night and T had basketball practice on Wednesday. It's been pretty quiet this week. The other night I downloaded a whole bunch of new music, 228 songs from a dozen cds or so, onto my iPods. That was fun. I put on a variety of stuff, from Eric Clapton and Norah Jones to Lenny Kravitz to the High School Musical 2 soundtrack. You just never know what you might be in the mood for, right? It's better to have all the bases covered.
