#331 brrr...it's cold here!

It's been a long day. Even though I usually get up at 5 in the morning when I'm home, I go to the gym and get my body moving. Today I just got on an airplane for an hour and a half, and I fell asleep for a few minutes during the flight.

T and I got home around 11:30. Our dog went nuts. She was a completely wild little beast. I never thought she would settle down! I changed my clothes and went to work, where everyone seemed surprised to see me, even though I think I told everyone I would be in on Monday afternoon.

I did leave early to go see Dr. Ben for my last injection on my right knee. There was an audience in there today: a couple of med students were tagging along with Dr. Ben and watched the injection. He gave me a little added boost of cortisone. I feel pretty good.

MT was home when I got here, so that was cool. I took Osi for a quick walk around the block, then MT and I went to Cafe Rio for a salad.

The Thanksgiving guest count, including the three of us, is at 14. That's Jake and Linda, Kelly, Denise, Jake and Garrett, and Denise's sister Vickie, her husband Terri, two of their kids and a three year old. YIKES! Only Jake and Linda will be staying over, but that's still a lot of people to me!

I was talking to a friend of mine at work today about Thanksgiving. She said that they were having a small group over this year, only 14. "Usually," she said, "we have between 30 and 40." ACK! ACK! She does have like six brothers and sisters, though, and all their families come with their children. She said that for Christmas, they rent a room at the Rec Center because there are around 80 people who come to that event. Can you imagine?

You can be sure that I will be obsessing about Thanksgiving for the next nine days until we have eaten the last morsel on Nov. 26.

Oh, and did I mention is FREAKING COLD HERE?! We boarded the plane in Long Beach this morning around 7:30 and it was about 50 degrees. The captain came on the intercom to tell us about our flight. "It looks like we'll have a beautiful flight today with clear skies. Current temperature in Salt Lake City is 26 degrees, looking for a high today of about 40." You should have heard the buzz on the plane when he said 26 degrees. All around me I heard people asking each other, "Did he say 26?" "Oh my God! 26 degrees." "Let me off this plane!" OK, maybe that last comment was just me.
