Tonight T did something he hasn't done before: he went to a concert with a friend. He and Trent went to see Childish Gambino at The Complex in downtown SLC. I had mixed feelings about dropping my 16 year old son and his friend off in the heart of the city to attend a rap concert on a school night, but it was bound to happen, and T was very, very excited for the show. Actually, I was thrilled that Trent went with him because I don't think I would have let him go to the show by himself and I didn't really want to go.
The boys are both home now, a little hoarse and smelling of sweat and weed (second-hand weed smell!). They had a great time.
Thinking back, my mom and/or dad dropped Lizzie and I off for concerts, although I was older than 16, and those were at the Greek Theatre in LA or Irvine Meadows or even the Forum. The shows I saw in LA were in the summer because I went to college in Idaho. Maybe Lizzie has some stories about concerts she saw in high school, but I went to high school in a small town in Idaho. We came to concerts in Salt Lake and spent the night here.
Anyway, it's the circle of life, right? :)
