#1173 Happy Mother's Day

Today is Mother's Day in the USA. It's a day when we get to think about our moms and all that they do and have done for us. It's nice to have a special day to reflect on that, I suppose.

Growing up, I remember doing hand-made cards for my mom, but I can't really remember anything more about Mother's Day. Did we have cakes? Did we do anything special?

At my house, Mother's Day starts a special day cycle: Mother's Day, MT's birthday, my birthday, Father's Day. They are all a couple of weeks apart.

I never really expected MT to do anything special for me for Mother's Day. I'm not his mom. I'm just the mother of his child. Similarly, he's not my dad, so I don't do much for him for Father's Day. It's up to T to celebrate us on those days. I don't mind helping T out if he wants to get his dad a gift on Father's Day, and I know MT does the same.

This year, T gave me an iTunes gift card and a couple of (what else?) movies. He gave me Gravity and Breakfast at Tiffany's. He also gave me a really sweet card.

I sent my mom something I know she will like a lot, but I was a bit slow in the ordering, so I expect it to be delivered on Tuesday. I misjudged the delivery. I thought they would deliver on Thursday or Friday. Sorry Mom!

I love my mom a whole bunch and it bums me out that we live so far apart. I think about her every day and I hope that she had a really wonderful day. Love you Mama!

And I also want to say thanks to my son for making me a mom. It's a title I really enjoy having. Being T's mom is probably the best thing that's ever happened to me. He makes me happy every day.

Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mothers out here on the interwebs who might be reading! I hope you had a fabulous day :)
