#1312 savoring the cleanliness

I had a cleaning service come over to the house today in preparation for our holiday company. I am not the best housekeeper in the best of times, and when I'm working lots of hours, it takes everything I have to vacuum and swiffer and dust once a week. That sounds so terrible and I feel lazy and awful, but it's true.  I keep the kitchen in working order - that is, I clean up most evenings after dinner. I really hate to have dirty dishes in the sink.  I just have a hard time spending the time to really get the place clean, though, so I splurged on the cleaning service.

It was worth every penny! When I came home, the house smelled good, the floors were a little sparkly, the bathroom is super-clean and they even cleaned my fridge. Not throwing stuff away, but wiping down all the shelves and the drawers. They also cleaned the pans under the burners on the stove - you know what I'm talking about? I really appreciate that.

I think that I'll make a resolution next year to have my house cleaned on my birthday and at Thanksgiving. That's about six months apart. I wish I could have them in quarterly, but my budget can handle twice a year.

Osi went to doggy-daycare today so she wouldn't be underfoot when the cleaning service was here. Now she is dog tired. (Get it? She's a dog and she's tired. heehee) I'm hopeful she won't have a seizure tonight. Sometimes she'll seize after she's been excited or over-stimulated.

I gotta go now. I want to watch the last three minutes of the Jazz/Bulls game. The Jazz were down by 20 points, but have come back and lead by two. Make that four. Go Jazz!
