#1622 foodie Friday: buffalo chicken and homemade pretzels

This week was pretty quiet on the cooking front. I did cook, but the three of us only ate together one night. Mostly I just threw stuff together the other days because everyone was kind of doing their own thing.

Sometime during the week, though, I started thinking about soft delicious pretzels. I talked about pretzels at lunch one day with some friends. One person wanted pretzels with cinnamon sugar on them. Another person thought pretzels with nacho cheese sauce would be the best thing. I like my pretzels with mustard. I've never made pretzels from scratch. There are about a jillion pretzel recipes on Pinterest, like this one. Maybe I'll give it a try this weekend. I don't have anything planned. I think I would just make pretzel bites. I don't know if I have the patience to try to twist the dough into a cute shape. I'll let you know if I try it out.

I love social media and Twitter entertains the heck right out of me. I follow lots of entities from news stations to celebrities to sports teams and other random parties in between. One person I follow is the model Chrissy Teigen (@chrissyteigen). I think she is funny. She's married to the singer John Legend and is expecting their first baby. The other day she tweeted something about craving a buffalo chicken sandwich. I have absolutely been in that frame of mind before, and her tweet made me think of spicy chicken. I have a whole board on Pinterest devoted to buffalo chicken recipes. The thing is that neither of my menfolk care for buffalo chicken, so it's not something that I fix at home very often because I would end up eating the whole thing. There is a dip, though, by Hungry Girl called Buff Chick Hot Wing Dip that is pretty cheap as far as WW points and is on point with flavor.  I may just whip some of that stuff up this weekend. It makes a tasty sandwich, too. I bet my pretzel bites would be dang spectacular dipped in it, too!

There is every possibility that I will be cooking, eating and binge-watching Gilmore Girls tomorrow. Sounds good to me!
