#1632 simple pleasure Monday: the internet

I'm drawing a complete blank tonight! I've been sitting here for at least ten minutes, trying to think of a simple pleasure, and I got nothin'!

That's ridiculous though, because I'm not actually a writer. I wish I was though. I wish I was something. You know, when my mom introduces my sister, she always says, "This is my daughter Lizzie. She is a poet." When she introduces me, she says, "This is my daughter Sandy." I want to have an accomplishment! If only being accomplished didn't take so much work...

Now that I have looked at lots of images of writer's block and even read a couple of articles about it, today's simple pleasure became clear. It's the internet! How did we ever do anything without it? I made it through high school AND college without the internet. When I had to do research, I had to go to the library and get books and magazines and periodicals and encyclopedias. It took ages to cross-reference material. Now all you have to do is type a few words into a search engine and POW! A jillion sources of information about the topic come right up. It's fantastic. I love the internet!

Now it's time to go to sleep. Maybe a way I can become accomplished will come to me in my dreams.

Good night!

Hmm I don't recall introducing you to people saying this is Lizzie the poet and this is Sandy. But maybe I have.

How about: she's a fantastic mother, the best sister, an amazing daughter, a numbers whiz, a world traveler, AND you are a great writer! Why do you think I even started writing in the first place? Because my big sister did it!
