The other day I was listening to the radio and there was an advertisement, or maybe a public service announcement, about the government having unclaimed property. They gave a website address - I can't even remember what it was now, but I decided to check it out.
I entered the information it asked for, and a list of like names popped up along with addresses. I saw my name and address with a note that there was unclaimed cash over $100 and it was from the ISU Credit Union. That credit union is where I had my first account at college and I guess I had forgotten that I had a balance in the account!
I requested a check and got it today. It was $101, not much, but it's $100 that I didn't have yesterday!
