#2204 reading page update

I was thinking that it had been awhile since I'd updated my 2019 Reading Page, and it was true. I have read six books since I last updated it, so I took a few minutes to list the six books and write a little about each of them on that page. (Click the tab at the top of the page that says 2019 Reading List to check it out, if you want.)

Last Saturday I wrote about how I had to purge my to-read list in Goodreads and my wish list on the library ebook site. I mentioned that I had over 100 books and each of those lists; some of the titles were on both lists, but not all. I will also tell you that none of the six books I just added to my reading page were on either of those lists! Well, maybe one but it was only because I added it to the Goodreads list when I got it from Amazon.

Going to the library is like going to the bakery - I just want everything! I don't have much discipline. The lists are merely places to store book ideas so that when I find myself with nothing to read (fat chance) I don't have to remember that I wanted to read the latest Elizabeth Gilbert book because there it is somewhere on the list.

I have a pile of 12 books that I have purchased over the last year or so that I do want to read, but I know that I own them so I can read them anytime, so I will frequently pass them over to get something else from the library. Those 12 books are physical books; I also have ebooks that I have purchased.

I don't buy many books, really, especially compared to my husband, but sometimes I can't seem to help myself.

The library, whether real or virtual, is my most favorite place to get books. I like free books. :)

How many books do you usually read at one time? I used to be a strictly one book at a time kind of woman, but lately I've been juggling two or three books at a time. I will read a physical book and an ebook. The ebook mostly gets read at night in bed before I fall asleep. The physical book gets toted around the house to be read at the dining table or in my favorite corner of the couch with my reading light shining over my left shoulder.

I realize I'm kind of a maniac. Maybe my next tattoo will be a pile of books. Maybe like this:

I can just see my mom rolling her eyes right now. LOL

Really though, I hope I never get cured of this reading affliction!
