Saturday is typically the day I hang out at home, and that's exactly what I did! I spent the morning reading while I had breakfast, then, weirdly, I needed a nap. Come to think of it, sometimes my dad liked to have a post-breakfast nap, too. Guess it runs in the family.
I've been pretty energetic the rest of the day, though. I changed the sheets - there aren't many things better than fresh sheets, amIright? - and did some laundry. I vacuumed and dusted. The amount of dog hair and dust we have in the house boggles my mind! MT even bought a Roomba, you know, those little round robot vacuums that cats in videos ride around on? I just call it MT's lil robot. He runs it about every other day, but I wanted to do my own vacuuming. Few things are more gratifying than vacuum marks on the carpet.
Another thing I did today, that I have been wanting to do for awhile, is to clean out the cupboard that has all my glassware. I had many, many mugs and even more plastic cups and assorted water bottles than any family of three ever needs. The project didn't take very long and the results gave me great satisfaction.
Late in the afternoon, I started working on the Shutterfly photo book of our trip. I'm seven pages into it and all seven pages are photos from Barcelona. I expect to have 22 - 24 pages when I'm done. I'm still thinking about it. It's been fun to design the pages and think about what I want to see. I'm happy with what I have so far.
This book has made me wonder why I haven't made photo books of our other trips. Maybe I will...
The thing about the photo book is that it has taken quite a bit of time to design those first seven pages. I took hundreds of photos over those two weeks, and deciding which ones make it into the book has been time-consuming. Then the time it takes me to skibble the photos around so I think it looks good also is more than I bargained for. I'm having fun, though!
I was thinking about the vacation posts, and I actually think I might be done with them. I thought about posting some art pics and things about churches, but I don't know if those things are all that interesting, so I'm going to skip those dedicated posts and probably just throw a photo in every now and then with a brief explanation.
To that end, here's a photo that I don't think I have shared that will be going in the photo book. Nicole took this photo and I absolutely love it so much that I think I will physically print it to put in a frame. I love everything about it!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
