Last Wednesday I had the opportunity to volunteer at the first show of Red Butte Garden's summer concert series. The headliner was a band from Iceland called KALEO (pronounced ka-LAY-o).
The tour poster, shown above, made me wonder about not only what type of music they played, it also had me curious about what the man looked like when he wasn't making that screaming face. Turns out, he's quite handsome:
He is also ripped:
It was a little chilly last Wednesday, so those arms weren't on display, and even if they had been, I was too far away to see them, anyway.
I will mention that the man shown above is not the only member of the band. There were four or five other guys in the band, too, plus there were a couple of female backup singers. Frontmen, though, always seem to get the most attention, don't they? Also, the man does have a name, of course. It is JJ Julius Son.
The music is good. I would describe it as kind of alternative rock with a bluesy vibe. JJ has a great voice, and the band is tight. I enjoyed the show a lot. Click here to read a review from the Salt Lake Tribune.
Here is the video for the song "Way Down We Go." This song has been in my head since I first listened to it last week. It's kind of hypnotic.
I'm going big tonight with another video. I really like this song called "No Good." Check it out!
Have a great week!

I like the song Way Down We Go when I first heard it, but I didn't know Kaleo was from Iceland. And I definitely like the singer! Yay Iceland!
