#2745 staying home tonight

First, let me just say that MT and I had a great time at The Black Keys concert on Monday night! We got there a little late, because it was blazing hot and we weren’t too keen on sitting in the hot, hot sun for the opening bands. We had dinner at a new place (for us) called La Casa del Tamal. It’s in our neighborhood, and it was our first time going there. The restaurant has been there for awhile, but we just hadn’t been there. I think we’ve been missing out. It was good! I had chicken flautas, and MT had chili verde enchiladas - his go-to meal at nearly every Mexican restaurant. I’m pretty sure we will go back there because there were several things on the menu that I’d like to try.

Since we arrived later at the concert venue, we had good parking right at the back of the lot. We were hopeful that our prime spot would allow us easier exiting. The second opening band was still playing when we got there. They were called Ceramic Animal. They were okay; they jammed a little more than I think is strictly necessary.

The Black Keys came on around 9:15 and played until around 10:45.  It was a good show and I especially liked that there were just a few people right in front of me. There were gobs of people there, but the row in front of me, at least down on the end where I was sitting, was pretty empty. MT and I, well, I danced around and sang along. We drank a couple of beers and admired the full moon.

After the show, we decided to check out the merch and ended up with t-shirts and stickers. (I love stickers. Must be my inner child peeking out, yeah?) When I got home, I let the dogs out and admired the moon some more.

Oh yeah! After we bought the merch, I wanted to have my photo taken on this little display. I took a photo of a group of women, then one of them took our photo:

I don’t know what the 22 stands for. Maybe USANA’s 22nd show this summer? IDK.

Another bonus of hanging out a little after the show? We did get out of the parking lot quickly and easily. I think it was the fastest we have ever got home after a show there. The venue is only about 10 minutes from our house, so it is close, but sometimes it has taken us nearly 40 minutes to get home once we are in the car. We were only about 15 minutes from car to home on Monday. Nice!

We got home late and I was still hyped from the show, so it was probably around 1:00 when I went to sleep. I was dragging on Tuesday for sure.

Tonight I was supposed to volunteer at a concert at RBG, but the concert was postponed because the artist got Covid. I am sad for Joss Stone to have Covid, and I’m glad she rescheduled. Honestly, I’m okay with not being at the Garden tonight because it thundered and rained here at my house, so I’m pretty sure it thundered and rained up in the foothills where Red Butte Garden is. Also, I’m taking advantage of being home to get to bed early. I took a melatonin about 20 minutes ago and I can feel it kicking in.

Good night!

Beautiful moon! I'm glad you had a good time, and it was good you stayed home with the stormy night. Love you.
